Samantha Dieterich, MD

Dr Jennifer Helmcamp is a board-certified physician, specializing in pediatrics. Her professional interests include nutrition. She is passionate about forming great relationships with her patients, from newborns to adolescents, and their parents. Dr Helmcamp believes in teamwork, ensuring that parents get all of their questions answered and know that they are always doing the best for their children. She often feels like she's part of their family and finds that truly rewarding. Dr Helmcamp is a proud Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, reading and traveling. Dr Helmcamp has been recognized as a Top Doc 2020 by Austin Monthly Magazine.

Dr Elam always wanted to be a physician since she was in high school. She loved science and working with people, and found a great way to blend the two. She enjoys being there for people during both happy and hard times, and the relationships that develop from those experiences. Interacting with children is Dr Elam's favorite part of her job. Children are incredibly resilient and she loves watching them grow into young adults. Dr Elam holds particular interests in newborns and breastfeeding, as well as vaccine education and behavioral health. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They spend most of their time outside swimming, hiking, exploring or at the baseball fields.

Johelin De Freitas Hernandez, MD chose a career in health care because she wanted a career centered on compassion, connection and making a meaningful difference in people's lives. She has always been passionate about helping children and supporting families through every stage of growth and development. Pediatrics allows her to combine science, kindness and advocacy while building meaningful long-term relationships with patients and their families. What excites Dr Freitas Hernandez most about Pediatrics is the opportunity to make a lasting impact early in a child's life, from preventive care to guiding parents and children through complex medical and developmental challenges.

Katrina's interests include pediatrics and urgent care. As a physician extender, she provides you with quality care when you need it-increasing same-day availability, providing thorough exams, and providing guidance and comfort for unexpected urgent needs. In her spare time, Katrina enjoys traveling, kickboxing and spending time outdoors.

Dr Azadi's passion to care for young children started long before medical school when he volunteered to help with children's immunization campaigns at a refugee camp. As a dedicated pediatrician, he is proud that he has devoted his life to the well-being of all children. Outside of work, Dr Azadi enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He enjoys spending time in nature, hiking and reading.

Dr Alexandra Thomas is a pediatrician with a particular interest in the unique challenges of adolescence such as eating disorders, weight management, sports health and nutrition, acne, mental health, substance use, menstrual concerns, gynecological care, sexual and reproductive health, and more. From a young age, Dr Thomas has been fascinated by the blend of science, compassion, and problem-solving that medicine embodies. The opportunity to truly make a difference in people's lives is what drove her to pursue medicine. As an athlete who has faced multiple challenges, she has seen firsthand how healthcare providers can positively impact recovery and well-being.

Dr Ali Kurady is board-certified pediatric nephrologist with an interest in neonatal kidney disease, kidney transplant, hypertension, proteinuria, hematuria and kidney stones. Dr Kurady is certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and pediatric nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics. In his spare time, he enjoys soccer, travel, swimming and spending time with family.

Dr Allyson McDonough is a board-certified physician, specializing in rheumatology, who is recognized for her ability to handle complex and rare rheumatologic diseases. Her professional interests include common inflammatory rheumatologic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, vasculitis, scleroderma, Sjögren's and sarcoid. Dr McDonough is passionate about incorporating integrative medicine into traditional rheumatologic practice and aiding her young adult patients in their transition from pediatric to adult rheumatologic care. She believes in an evidence-based approach that treats the whole person and integrates conventional and complimentary therapies.
