He came to America in 1957 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. Spending much of his time working in a local bakery, Gino began spending the rest of his time dating the love of his life, Angela. They married in 1959 and eventually moved to New Jersey where he opened his first Italian-American bakery/pizzeria. After moving to Florida and opening a pizza shop, his friend Tony from Sicily talked Gino and his brother Luciano into coming to Texas for a partnership in Galveston.
